2. On-Device Media Processing
SubSnap is designed from the ground up as a decentralized, on-device video editor:
Videos & Photos: When you select a video to edit, all processing occurs entirely within your device's local memory and processor.
Audio & Speech Recognition: Audio transcription is executed locally using embedded on-device Whisper models. Your voice recordings and extracted audio never leave your device.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
We believe in data minimization. SubSnap does not collect, request, or store any of the following personal data:
Names, email addresses, or phone numbers
User accounts or passwords
Contacts, calendars, or messages
Biometric or facial recognition data
4. Third-Party Services & Data Collection
To support digital purchases and in-app advertising, SubSnap integrates trusted third-party SDKs. These third parties may collect limited technical data as described below:
A. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases (RevenueCat & Google Play)
When you purchase a Pro subscription or digital pass, transaction processing is handled securely by Google Play Billing and RevenueCat. They collect:
Purchase history and transaction identifiers to validate your active subscription.
An anonymous App User ID to associate entitlements with your installation.
SubSnap requests only the permissions necessary to perform its functions:
Media Storage (Photos / Videos / Audio): Required to allow you to select video files from your device and save the exported video back to your Gallery (Movies/SubSnap).
Internet Access: Required strictly for Google Play subscription validation, AdMob ad delivery, and optional on-demand downloading of Whisper speech models from public repositories (such as Hugging Face).
Foreground Service: Required to keep long video rendering tasks active without interruption when the app is processing in the background.
Advertising ID (AD_ID): Used by AdMob to deliver ads and measure ad performance in compliance with Android 13+ guidelines.
6. Your Privacy Rights & Controls
You have direct control over advertising and data tracking directly on your Android device:
Reset or Delete Advertising ID: You can reset or completely delete your Android Advertising ID at any time in your phone's Settings > Google > Ads.
Manage App Permissions: You can revoke photo or storage access at any time via your device's Settings > Apps > SubSnap > Permissions.
7. Children's Privacy
SubSnap does not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to third-party services through the app, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
